According to an ancient legend some centuries ago the Franciscan friars who lived in Santarcangelo di Romagna were great producers of red wine. One day, during a banquet the best red wine was offered to an illustrious guest. He was so delighted that immediately asked for the name. After a first moment of uncertainty, a friar said: "Sanguis Jovis" or "Blood of Jupiter", thinking about the color of the wine and the name of the hill.
